Services

The Club organises a mix of racing, training and social events, with something usually happening every other weekend. The main regattas for beachcats in HK are held from September to November when the north-east monsoon blows, but racing out of the Club happens year round. Club members frequently participate in inter-club regattas in HK, and we also make overseas trips to the Philippines and Thailand to participate in regattas there. Our club has a wide spread of abilities but at the top end we have won many local and overseas regattas outside of our own club racing.

History

History

The Hong Kong Hobie Club (Fleet 179) was established in the late 1970s by a group of enthusiastic sailors in Stanley, south side of Hong Kong Island. Later it moved across the bay to To Tei Wan a secluded beach barely 10 kilometres from the centre of the Hong Kong metropolis. Enclosed by beautiful Tai Tam Bay, the beach is close to some of the best sailing waters in the territory, the area south of Stanley Fort near Po Toi and Beaufort Islands.
