History

Kitsilano Yacht Club was founded in 1934 and over the years the Club has developed into an exciting venue for one-design sailing. Kits Yacht Club is home to active one-design fleets including the Star, 5o5, Lightning, Martin 242, Melges 24 and ubiquitous Laser classes. It also has active outrigger canoe paddling, kayakers, stand-up paddlers and row boats. Summers are filled with Thursday night and weekend club racing, as well as a number of events held in conjunction with other clubs in the English Bay.
