History

In the early sixties a group of enthusiastic sailors decided to form a Sailing Club called Dundalk Bay Boat Club at Bellurgan. With an array of various sailing boats, races were organised at week-ends which were very much handicapped by the tidal conditions at the Blue Anchor Quay. The club then moved to Carlingford where the name changed to Dundalk Sailing Club. In an effort to be more accepted in Carlingford Lough the name of the club was changed once more to the Dundalk & Carlingford Sailing Club. After many years to avoid confusion amongst visitors the final name change was made to Carlingford Sailing Club.
