History
The Mudheads formed their own club in 1976 to help promote their cause. Racing and camaraderie. From those heady days, the Mudheads have grown into arguably the most active racing fleet in the Northeast with over 60 boats regularly participating in the Wednesday Night Racing Series. The Mudhead burgee is frequently visible in weekend regattas from Newport to Block Island to City Island. And even Around the World. Anyone can join. All it takes is a member sponsor and a few dollars for annual dues. Of course, you will need a desire to join a club whose Mission is to promote camaraderie and fun among members by encouraging competitive sailing, managing quality races, fostering member participation in racing at all levels, and hosting memorable social events.
