History
The Indian Harbor Yacht Club is rich in sailing tradition. The Club, with its breath taking views of Long Island Sound and its convenient location to Newport and New York, is widely recognized as a premier yachting facility on the East Coast. It operates a mooring facility in the harbor, an active adult and junior sailing program, and a full service restaurant and bar. The current club facility was built in 1920 having been rebuilt following a devastating fire to the original facility in 1919. The Indian Harbor Yacht Club was founded in 1889 and incorporated in Connecticut In 1901.
