History

Formed in 1937, West Riding Sailing Club is one of the largest and oldest sailing clubs in Yorkshire with around 300 members and 120 boats. We are situated five miles South-East of Wakefield on Wintersett Reservoir with a sailing area covering approximately 100 acres. A new clubhouse built in 2006 is the pride of the club and hosts many social activities throughout the year. The club caters for all sailors from the novice to the experienced racer. The club races every Sunday during the year and Wednesday nights during the summer months. The water is open any other time for recreational sailing.
