Southport Sailing Club is a well established Community Amateur Sports Club catering for Sailing, Power Boating, Waterskiing and Windsurfing, with good regional access and safe sailing waters and is an RYA recognised Training Centre. The club was founded in 1959. A number of club members hold RYA Dinghy Instructors Certificates and First Aid Certificates, and the club operates a regular training programme for both members and non-members. The club hosts racing on up to three days each week, the Summer Series operating on Wednesday and Friday evenings and Sundays. The Twilight Series on a Wednesday and Friday in Autumn. During the winter it runs a Sunday ‘Frostbite’ Series which extends from November to March and is an open event.
