History
The club began in 1955 at Sugar Loaf Beach in Portishead to promote the sport of sailing on the Bristol Channel. More than 50 years on we have grown from humble beginnings to one of the leading coastal sailing clubs in the South West. We are proud of our National Champions and World Championship competitors. However we are also able to offer sailing to everybody regardless of their ability. Some years ago we entered into partnership with Training Saints, a watersports tuition company, to become a RYA Accredited Training Centre. This means we are can offer formal sailing qualifications, from complete beginner upwards, together with instruction in windsurfing, powerboating and personal watercraft. We also have a Cadet section for young people.
