History
Competitive racing takes place on Sunday afternoons throughout the year and on Monday evenings from March to September. Each year a Beginners course is run. This is well supported and there are other times when members can improve their skills with the help and guidance of experienced Club sailors. The main class boat raced is the Enterprise, which is ideally suited to the size, shape and wind patterns of the Mere. Other classes which are sailed include the Solo, Mirror, Laser and Topper. We are a friendly family club and as well as the racing/sailing activities, there are also a number of social events held through out the year. We are always interested in new members and we would welcome enquiries/visits to the Mere from anyone interested in sailing - beginners, racers or those who just wish to potter there is something for everyone.
