History
Hickling Broad, fringed with reed beds, is part of an ecologically unique and scenic national nature reserve, abundant with rare wildlife, including bitterns, swallowtail butterflies and protected plants. The reserve forms part of the wider Broads National Park, much of which is accessible to the cruising enthusiast. There is nearly always a good wind on Hickling Broad and we operate a live weatherline service so you can check conditions before setting out. When the sea breeze kicks in on a balmy summer afternoon, Hickling sailors, enjoying the largest of the Norfolk Broads, will still be competing when more inland clubs have abandoned racing.
