Phoenix Yacht Club (PYC) https://phoenixyachtclub.co.uk/ owns two yachts, a Westerly Oceanquest 35 and an X-40. We are based in Gosport and our sailing is often in the Solent. As a club we offer Cruising, Racing and Training but cruising tends to be more popular. To sail our boats you have to be a member of the club and memberships fees can be seen on our web site. Members sail by booking a berth on a per day basis throughout the whole year. The cost of a berth depends on whether it is a mid-week in winter or a summer weekend. Each summer we have a summer cruise to a different destination, such as in 2021 it is the West Country and the East Coast and the weeks on this cruise are always popular. Our web site shows some of the destinations we sail to and the blog has reports of previous events and trips. Have look and see if you like us. In 2021 we are taking part in the JOG series of races and the annual Round the Island race. We do a lot of training to improve our skills, this is both informal practical courses such as boat-handling and flying the spinnaker to the certificate RYA practical qualifications.

History
We were originally the BP Yacht club but after BP decided to not own boats then the staff members decided to buy the boats from them and start their own club. Phoenix has gone from strength to strength since. Both of the orginal boats have been replaced by newer models a number of times and membership is open to all.
