Dinghy Racing located in the heart of The Royal Borough of Kingston-Upon-Thames, Surrey, Greater London. New members are very welcome, organised racing takes place over the weekends & on wed evenings. Minima Yacht Club founded in 1889 is a family friendly dinghy sailing club, with a canoing section. It is an affordable club hosting lots of racing and social activities taking place throughout the year. Minima is open to visitors and new members who are welcome to join in the fun. The club is a non profit organisation being run by its members for its members and aims to encourage and premote amateur dinghy sailing by providing a safe environment for adults and juniors. The clubhouse has a bar and function rooms available for hire with balcony views overlooking the Thames and the grounds of Hampton Court Palace and Home Park. On a warm evening it's a great place to have a drink and watch the sun set on one of the most picturesque spots on the Thames. Members sailing skills and abilities vary for the complete novice to the experienced. The main classes are Merlins Rockets, Enterprises, Solos, Toppers, Optimist and a mixture of others dinghies making up the rest of the fleet, most classes are welcome. Dinghy Racing takes place on Wednesday evenings, Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, with the season running from March to December, with the clubhouse open right through the year.
