Durham University Sailing Club is one of the largest and most active clubs in the University with 100 members and a squad of 30 Team members. In 2005/6 the club raised £20,000 for a fleet of Firefly dinghies and moved from South Shields to Derwent Reservoir Sailing Club . The move will make it easier to sail all year round with dedicated rescue cover and no tides or shipping to worry about.
