The YCCS currently organizes a range of superyacht regattas as well as World and European Championships for classes such as the TP52 class, the Farr 40 class, the International 12-metre class, Melges 32, Melges 24, Veteran and Maxi classes. The 2012 sailing season sees the YCCS organize the Audi European Championship Melges 32, the Rolex Swan Cup and the Mini Maxi Rolex World Championship within the traditional Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup as well as newer superyacht events such as the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta and the Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta & Rendezvous in Virgin Gorda, BVI.
History
The Yacht Club Costa Smeralda was founded on 12th May 1967 by H.H. the Aga Khan, Andrè Ardoin, Giuseppe Kerry Mentasti and Luigi Vietti as a non-profit making sporting association for fellow sailing enthusiasts and with a view to promoting related activities.
