History
Our Club was founded on 20th March 1962 at “The Slipway” beside the River Bann at Drumslade, a mile downstream from the present clubhouse There were 10 founder members who each subscribed to the new club which they named “The River Bann Boat Club”. The first premises were most appropriate for a boat club in that they were aboard the escort ship “Emily” which had been towed from Londonderry and launched at Drumslade. As the club continued to grow, the County Council decided to build the Marina at Coleraine and the club negotiated the lease of of new premises.
