The Point Roberts Yacht Club was inaugurated in 1981 with about one hundred families participating. The first Club race was held in 1982 with Ian and Agnes Jackson as the Race Committee. The Club consists of a number of membership categories, including Active (boat owners), Social (crew), Out-of-Town (cruising the world), Junior, Student and Honorary. There is a healthy mixture of boats
