History

Founded in 1989 by a group of Lake Erie boaters who frequented the islands of the western basin, Middle Bass Island Yacht Club has grown to near 600 members. The Club is situated on Middle Bass Island within the State Park Marina facility. MBIYC leases its property from the State of Ohio. The club facilities include a gazebo and picnic area complete with a large tent to fend off the sun and rain as well as docks for seasonal and guests boaters. A dockmaster is employed by the club to aid all members and guests in the assignment of docks. A club dock policy is in effect, enforced by the dockmaster. Dockage is available to visitors from affiliated clubs on a reciprocal basis. MBIYC is a member of the Inter-Lake Yachting Association and the Greater Cleveland Boating Association.
