On August 29th, 1910, a group of boating enthusiasts formed an organization for the purpose of advancing the interests of yachtsmen in Mattituck, New York. Thus, the Mattituck Yacht Club was born. Two years later, in August of 1912, the club received its Certificate of Incorporation from New York State.
