Luncheon day cruises to local waterfront restaurants and Friday through Sunday weekend cruises to other yacht clubs within a day's run are scheduled each month. There is an all-member harbor cruise during Labor Day Weekend , the Blessing of the Fleet in March (when each SYC boat parades by the bridge officers), a predicted log contest and fishing tournaments. There is the annual extended cruise whose destination (such as Key West, the Bahamas and up the ICW as far as Charleston changes each year. There is also a mini-extended cruise, often times throughout the Tampa Bay area. And then there is the SYC Invitational Regatta, part of the Sarasota Bay Yachting Association Boat of the Year series, which became an annual event in 2001 a result of SYC's renewed focus on sailing.
