History
Founded in the mid 1930s by a small group of dinghy enthusiasts, West Hoe Sailing Club is one of the most famous sailing clubs in the port of Plymouth. The club has a long and successful history of involvement in small boat racing and over the years members have won many dinghy and small keelboat national and major regatta titles. West Hoe Sailing Club operates from the Royal Plymouth Corinthian Yacht Club, and runs racing for one-design classes from the RPCYC’s magnificent premises overlooking the sound on Thursday evenings from early April to the end of September. Racing is currently run for the National Squib class, and the Trapper 300 class, but the club is happy to run racing and offer series prizes for any small one-design keelboat class.
