History
The University of Portsmouth Sailing Club (UPSC) is one of the most prestigious clubs of the students union. With a typical annual membership of around 120 members, it is also one of the largest. UPSC caters for the entire spectrum of sailing abilities, from people who have their first sailing experiences at university, regional / national champions through to Olympic sailors. At the Sydney Olympic games two of the British sailing team were graduates of the university (Richard Sydenham and Hugh Styles), Mark Bulkeley & medal winning Chris Draper were at the 2004 Athens Olympics, all of whom have held committee positions within UPSC during their time at Portsmouth.
