History
The ULSSC : University of Limerick Staff Sailing Club was founded in 1993 and is situated on the western shore of Lough Derg at the UL Activity Centre, Killaloe Co, Clare. The clubs sailing season is from March to October with specially organised events for beginners planned from March to May. The club provides an inexpensive relaxed safe environment for beginners to start sailing and all training courses organised by the club are ISA certified. In addition to weekly dingy sailing the club organises weekend coastal trips offshore over the summer. UL Staff Sailing Club’s members mainly consist of staff and research postgraduates drawn from all corners of the University, their partners and alumni. The Club has a weekly sailing program every Tuesday evenings throughout the summer months from April to October along with several weekend cruises. New comers are always welcome!
