SYSC was founded just over 50 years ago on Morehall Reservoir, which is situated in the beautiful Ewden Valley, about 7 miles to the north of Sheffield and convenient for access to the M1, Barnsley, Rotherham and the Peak District. We have organised racing on Sundays and Wednesday evenings (during the lighter nights) and members can sail at any other time as long as safety rules are met. Racing starts on Sundays at 12.30 pm (time for a lie in or grass cutting duties beforehand) and Wednesdays at 6.30 pm (straight from work?) and followed by a supper. We sail a variety of dinghies, mainly Streakers, Mirrors, GP’14s, and Toppers, although there are a few ‘others’.
