Clear Lake Yacht Club (CLYC)Clear Lake Yacht Club, located in Clear Lake Iowa was founded in 1935 to promote pleasure and competitive sailing, for all ages. Whatever your age 6 or 80 years young, sailing is great fun for all. If you have never been on a sailboat, or if you are a seasoned skipper or crew, the CLYC is for you! CLYC offers many opportunities to experience sailing, from a Sailing School to competitive racing. Our beginning sailors learn in the classroom and then under the direct supervision of our experienced sailors take to the water. CLYC sailing school offers many different classes based on your experience and skill level. Competitive sailing occurs every weekend from May through August on Clear lake, and the CLYC participates at the regional and national level in regattas at other lakes throughout the summer.
