History

Hornsea Mere is owned by Wassand Estate Trust and leased to the Hornsea Mere Marine Company. It has been the home of Hornsea Sailing Club for over 50 years. The Club, which is affiliated to the RYA, organizes an extensive racing programme and offers a base for those who wish to use the lake for cruising. It is open 7 days a week from early April to late October, from early morning to early evening (but see posted notice re-closure time for that day) and also on Wednesday evenings from early May to late August.
